The Royal Australian Survey Corps - Exhibition Films
The Royal Australian Survey Corps (RASvy) was the Army’s mapping capability, creating maps for Australia and other countries for both military and civilian applications from 1918 until it was disbanded and civilianised in 1996. For almost it’s entire history, the RASvy Regiment (their headquarters) was based at Fortuna Villa in Bendigo.
The Problem
In 2025, the Bendigo Military Museum hosted an exhibition telling the story of the RASvy and its veterans. Video is becoming a natural and logical inclusion in exhibitions, making it much easier for audiences to engage with the emotion of the subject matter.
The Solution
We worked closely with the curator at the Bendigo Military Museum to produce two videos for the exhibition. One focused on the unique and enduring community culture that still exists today and the other focused on the map making process and the complexity that was inherent in producing highly accurate military grade maps.
Both videos were compilations of filmed interviews from eight veterans in the luxurious ex home of the Survey Corps.
