Bendigo Military Museum - Exhibition Film
The Bendigo Military Museum (BMM) is fully supported by the Bendigo District RSL Sub-Branch, which utilizes the Soldier’s Memorial Institute building. This iconic City of Greater Bendigo structure is a significant landmark for both residents and visitors. The BMM was redeveloped and officially re-opened on November 15, 2018, exactly 97 years after the building's initial opening in 1921. As one of the largest memorial museums in the country, it houses a broad range of military memorabilia that showcases the contributions of local heroes in various conflicts and peacekeeping operations.
The Problem
The BMM curator approached us with a challenge. They were planning the launch of a new exhibition and wanted to incorporate a video element that captured the stories and faces of peacekeeping veterans from the Bendigo region. The difficulty lay in featuring 10 veterans in a video of roughly 10 minutes. Some might say this was an unachievable task.
The Solution
But not us! The collaborative nature of our process guided the project to success, and the final film was one of those projects that made us extra proud.
We filmed 9 interviews from 10 people in one shoot day, which seemed like a legitimate miracle, and wove them together to tell a story of selflessness, sacrifice, and service.
The videos we produced were featured in the exhibition, making a significant impact on both the exhibition's visitors and the veterans featured.
